Training:

Training is critical to Health and Safety Management. We offer the following training programs.

  • Health and Safety Training for Supervisors:

The Supervisor is the hinge pin in creating a safe work site. Supervisors are often put into a leadership role without adequate training and understanding of their legal responsibilities. Supervisors are the critical link in the profit making process and much is expected of them. Often supervisors do not know how to balance productivity and safety. Our training will give them the tools required to make safe decisions. We look at decision logic and leadership skills for supervisors.

  • Health and Safety Inspection Techniques:

Site inspections are a critical component in Health and Safety Management. Inspections are a powerful tool for a company to identify positive and negative safety practices. An inspection can serve as a reporting tool to management, a call to action, a report card or a means to praise. Jobsite site inspections are legally mandated by WorksafeBC as part of a company's due diligence. Our training looks at how to use inspections to encourage safe work practices through positive reinforcement.

  • Accident Investigation and Incident Reporting:

At the moment of an accident, a company wants to have all systems in place to address the incident. Investigation and reporting policies need to be clearly identified in advance so that they can be easily implemented when an accident occurs. Our training will assist you in developing an accident investigation and reporting policy so that your company will be well positioned in the event of an incident.

  • Implementing and Maintaining a Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee:

The JOHSC is a committee made up of labour and management representatives working together to identify and resolve health and safety problems in the workplace. The committee must operate in an atmosphere of co-operation in order to be effective in promoting and monitoring a sound and effective Health and Safety program. Training is necessary to understand the roles and responsibilities of members of the committee. Our training strives to create a cohesive team, so that they have the skills to make important decisions on health and safety issues.
