About Us

Company Owner: Victoria Baschzok

Victoria BaschzokVictoria's combination of education and experience is unique in the industry. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in German and French literature and a Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia. Victoria is fluent in French and German and has lived overseas for numerous years. Her travels and language skills have opened the world to her and allow her to connect with people with diverse backgrounds. This openness to cultural diversity is an asset in her ability to address the needs of a multi-cultural workforce.

In fact, Victoria's love of learning led her to move away from academics and towards a carpentry apprenticeship. While working as a carpenter, her eyes were opened to the importance of safety on the job. She witnessed friends being hurt and the long term effects of work related injuries. Victoria began to study Health and Safety management systems and worked as a Construction Safety Officer on construction projects.

Safety Solutions at Work benefits enormously from Victoria's experience as an educator. Victoria has over a decade of experience in curriculum development and easily transfers these skills over when developing an Occupational Health and Safety Plan.

However, Victoria was also an education leader who specialized in creating positive learning communities and the psychology of learning. Her training puts a unique spin on her delivery of OHS programs. What she discovered is that a worker's attitude is often the determining factor in the effectiveness of an OHS program. In her development of OHS programs, she addresses workplace psychology and encourages companies to create a "culture of safety". There is a shift in focus in high risk industries to incorporate community building, social and emotional wellbeing and creating a positive workplace culture into their Occupational Health and Safety programs. Through Victoria's unique training, Safety Solutions at Work is well positioned to meet this demand.
